Does It Still Count If No One Sees It?

Are you only an artist after you’ve shown your work? Are you only a musician after you’ve played for an audience? Are you only a writer after someone reads your work?

only you

Don’t let other people or worse, your own fears, decide when you are ready to be who you are in your heart.

The fear is always worse than the action.

By giving yourself permission to say out loud that you already are what you dream of being, you grant your creativity a special kind of freedom. By owning your wishes — you let them be your NOW instead of your SOMEDAY.

I can be a brave person. I open myself up and risk being vulnerable to certain people because I think they are worth it. I would rather know that I tried then spend my life wondering.

We should all be that way with our dreams and our passions.

Even if it is a struggle and even if you have to start from scratch every day, open yourself up to what you want to be and risk being vulnerable to your heart of hearts.

Because you are worth it too.

I am a writer. No qualifiers. No “maybe someday”. Now. I am a writer.

What are you?

xoxo ~ Melissa

  1. I am a lot of things. I’m and HR Manager. I’m a parent, I’m a husband, I’m a writer. The list goes on.

  2. We often put our wishes and dreams on a back burner, as if they’re less important than the needs of our kids, husbands, friends, etc. I’ve done this for years myself but I’m slowly claiming *my identity* back. I’m reading, learning, creating, becoming. I feels damn good to allow myself be who I want to be, not just mold myself to fit others.
