I checked in with my husband today to see what he thought so far about my Happiness Project. During this first month my focus has been on our marriage, showing proofs of love and giving trust. I was very pleased and rather surprised to get such a great reaction from him. He is really happy and has noticed my efforts.
I haven’t been perfect.
I didn’t become a Stepford Wife over the last couple of weeks.
What I have done was become more verbal about my positive feelings, work on projects that were on my personal Honey-Do list as proofs of love and not allow my low days to sabotage my self-esteem when it comes to our life together. I even survived a pretty severe PMS without going too dark on him.
I haven’t yet done things I wanted to do like leave a cute little note in a drawer or on his laptop. I haven’t completed the budget yet either.
In my attempt to be a better partner, that actually included being better to myself. I’ve been working the Weight Watchers program and taking my supplements. I’m also going to sleep earlier and waking up on time. I start the day with him and the children singing silly songs and coaxing a smile from each face.
Giving love more mindfully is an easy habit to create and keep.
